BTCC R7 - KNOCKHILL: INDEPENDENT WINNERS AT KNOCKHILL

Kerb hopping and trophies north of the border!

The weekend at Knockhill began with FP1 and FP2 on the tight and undulating 1.27-mile circuit, known for its technical demands and unpredictable weather. The sessions were challenging for Scott, with traffic and weather playing pivotal roles it wasn't easy to learn the track in his Cupra Leon, however he learnt a lot ready for qualifying!

Heading into qualifying Scott was confident on having a great result, however due to the tight and twisty nature of Knockhill Scott's fastest laps were taken away due to track limit infringements! This left him very disappointed and annoyed, however he was ready for race day on Sunday!

The first race of the weekend kicked off with typical Knockhill drama. Scott got off to a solid start, maintaining his position as the pack jostled for places into the tight first corner. As the race progressed, it became clear that tire management would be crucial especially being on the mediums where other drivers were on the soft. The car's balance was good, and he eas able to stay in contention, battling for position throughout the race. After some close racing and a few daring overtakes, Scott crossed the line in 18th.

Race 2 was even more action-packed. Starting from 18th Scott knew that a strong start would be key. He launched off the line well, immediately gaining a few positions as the field funneled into the first few corners. He made places through out the whole of the race and managed to finish 16th on track. However due to being slightly out of his grid position at the start, he got a 5-second time penalty moving him back to 18th.

The final race of the weekend is always a test of endurance, with both car and driver pushed to the limit. By now, the track conditions had changed slightly, adding an extra layer of complexity. Starting from 18th, Scott knew that staying out of trouble would be essential. With being aggressive and also defensive Scott made his way up to 11th place, and also got his first independent win in the British Touring Car Championship!! This is a massive testament to how much effort the team has put into the season so far and we will keep on pushing!

Overall, the Knockhill round was a challenging yet rewarding weekend. The car performed well across all three races, and the team worked tirelessly to ensure we were competitive at every stage. Let's keep on pushing and get more trophies!
